Gull Lake TOC Concludes 2018 – Presented by Blackfish Gear

The end of year Tournament of Champions (“TOC”) is the most anticipated event of the MN Bass Tour season due to it being the only 2 day event of the year and as a result, factors heavily in crowning the Blackfish Team of the Year.

Specifically, teams attending the weekend event accumulate Team of the Year points for BOTH days. The end result: an exciting finish as teams charge towards the coveted honor by patterning an outstate body of water.

This year was no different on Gull Lake and the Tournament of Champions presented by Blackfish Gear.

Last Cast Takes Minnetonka and Ties for Team of the Year Lead!

8th Season and 8th Visit to Minnetonka

The Minnesota Bass Tour wrapped up its last regular season tournament this past Sunday on Lake Minnetonka! The tournament, presented by Denali Fishing Rods, was met with excitement by anglers as we blasted off to a beautiful smoke-hazed sunrise from Lake Minnetonka Regional Park. This was the 8th time we have fished this lake and once again presented a day of learning and new experiences!

Flippin’ Ain’t Easy Takes TOC and Team of Year

MN Bass Tour Members gathered at Lake Vermilion for the last tournament of the year on September 9th and 10th. The Tournament of Champions (“TOC”) represents the MN Bass Tour’s final event of the year and is the only two day event of the year.

The cumulative weight over each day wins the largest payouts we have for the year and oftentimes results in significant shifting of teams as they ramble for Team of the Year points at the same time. Our weather was generally stable with sunny and 70 degree days Friday-Sunday and with south winds from 5-10 mph.

Easy as Pie: It’s Flippin’ Ain’t Easy for the Win on ‘Tonka!

July 30th marked the 7th time fishing Lake Minnetonka and MN Bass Tour members were greeted with a sunrise having the endless spectrum of orange and red hues. It’s always breathtaking to have this as the backdrop for our blastoffs and racing to our first fishing spot for the day.

As the sunrise faded and the day completed, the total weight of bass caught by all anglers was the highest compared to all previous visits to Lake Minnetonka. However, with the warm skies, calm winds and being the most visited recreational lake in the state – it still made it challenging day for teams. Continue Reading →
