Let’s weigh ’em like the good ol’ days!
Tourney #2 brings us to the familiar and fun waters of Lake Minnetonka presented by Blackfish Gear! We can’t choose the weather but Blackfish’s line up will always keep us comfortable no matter how challenging the weather conditions get during a tournament day. For us in the Tour, it means we can keep focus on bringing in the winning limit while looking and feeling great.
Anglers throughout the state were relieved that the restrictions to social gatherings at lakes loosened to the levels that have been allowed at your local big box stores since March. This means the Minnesota Bass Tour will be resuming it’s typical weigh-in procedures while adhering to proper social distancing rules! Bring on the hawgs!
8th Season and 8th Visit to Minnetonka
The Minnesota Bass Tour wrapped up its last regular season tournament this past Sunday on Lake Minnetonka! The tournament, presented by Denali Fishing Rods, was met with excitement by anglers as we blasted off to a beautiful smoke-hazed sunrise from Lake Minnetonka Regional Park. This was the 8th time we have fished this lake and once again presented a day of learning and new experiences!
Ummm…. August Already?
It’s well into August and that means we’re approaching the final regular season tournament of the 2018 season! Sheesh, we have ripped through the first 4 events and even I feel like the first event on Rush Lake was only yesterday!
This Sunday, August 12th, we are going back to Lake Minnetonka presented by Denali Rods.
July 30th marked the 7th time fishing Lake Minnetonka and MN Bass Tour members were greeted with a sunrise having the endless spectrum of orange and red hues. It’s always breathtaking to have this as the backdrop for our blastoffs and racing to our first fishing spot for the day.
As the sunrise faded and the day completed, the total weight of bass caught by all anglers was the highest compared to all previous visits to Lake Minnetonka. However, with the warm skies, calm winds and being the most visited recreational lake in the state – it still made it challenging day for teams.
It’s the 2nd Half Stretch!
It’s hard to believe that we are officially in the 2nd half stretch of this season! In looking at the team of the year points, there is an incredibly close race making for a lot of fun to see if the top teams maintain their stride or if others will capture lightning in the bottle to run the table!
the Zoo Minnetonka – the Most Visited Lake on the Tour
This weekend’s tourney will be the 7th time that the Minnesota Bass Tour has been on Lake Minnetonka.
